Three Eagles Communication of Mankato, Mapleton Marine and the Madison East Mall hosted our Haiti Relief

In three days volunteers helped pay for and pack over 113,000 meals!

I want to say a BIG thank you to all who have helped pack and pay for the 1,047,816 meals that have been shipped to Haiti since the earthquake from our Mankato location. This is AWESOME, but hopefully this is just the start. The US NAVY is guaranteeing to safely ship as many meals as we make to the hands of people in Haiti.

We feed children, it’s what we do. Please help us in our efforts to fundraise and make more meals for Haiti. All groups are being asked to help pay for what they will pack in a two hour session. Please call for more information @ 507-387-1390.

 

The Phil Keaggy event was wonderful, thanks to all the volunteers, radio stations, TV stations, and Phil himself, we made enough to feed over 65,000 children in Haiti!

Also the night of the concert, people from Crossview packed enough food to feed over 9,000 people! Way to go Crossview!

The 2nd annual Bowl-A-Thon raised over $9,000!

All we can say is WOW! 

 

On the road again! This time it's the Little Cedar Lutheran Church in Adams MN Population, 800, but don't let that number fool you! 

Almost half the town's population came together and produced an amazing: over 42,000 meals!

Great job team!

 

Thanks to Walmart and their help with transportation!

 

 

Because of Fairmont Minnesota's all day pack, we were able to help get the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation 70,000 meals.

And thanks to Wal-Mart, we were able to get it there for free!

There is a councel of 9 that will help distribute the food to the entire reservation.

80% unemployment, just 8 hours away from Mankato, please help us get them more if you can!

 

It still amazes me that less than 40 "kids" can pack over 10,000 meals, way to go St Teresa's! God bless you guys to believe!

 

 

 

Second Annual Bowl-A-Thon

 

 

The second annual Kids Against Hunger Bowl-A-Thon is quickly approaching, and we couldn’t be more excited. This year the bowl-a-thon will be held at the Wow! Zone in Mankato, Minn. on Friday, May 1 from 4 – 9:30 p.m. Richard Proudfit, founder of Kids Against Hunger, will be speaking to all of the bowlers at the event.

 

Kids Against Hunger is a non-profit organization with the mission to significantly reduce the number of hungry children in the USA and to feed starving children throughout the world. Every dollar we raise feeds another four kids!

 

Our aim in 2009 is to host 40 teams of five or six people. To help us reach our goal of feeding 500,000 people, we encourage each bowler to raise a minimum of $125. The cost for your business to participate is $150, which includes bowling and equipment rental for your team. In the case that your business chooses to have multiple teams, each additional team will cost $50. The deadline for team signup is April 15^th.

 

This year we are offering business packaging sessions at Kids Against Hunger if your total business/team contribution level is $1,500.

 

Any business/team that raises over $1,000 will qualify for a drawing of four lanes in the Wow! Zone VIP room. The top three individual contributors will receive a Kids Against Hunger sweatshirt donated by Mr. Monogram.

 

The annual Kids Against Hunger Bowl-A-Thon is a fun and worthwhile cause, but it couldn’t happen without the generous donations of local businesses. Please help make this event a great success!  Thank you for your consideration.

 

 

 

 

                  

 

 

 

 

 

On last Sat of Feb, the 28th we started again with Wal-Mart's help! (This time no snow!) The driver has been here so often he says, that's he's getting good at backing at our extremely hard dock!

Then it was on to Albert Lea, I knew we were in for something special that day with a sweet start like this:

Richard even came and inspired!

We had help from everyone, young and old! Over 80,000 Meals!

 

Wal-Mart not only provided transportation but the shoveling as well! (Thanks Mankato Night Owls & management for letting them go on a busy night!)

Here we go to Haiti again. This time we are going with Jason Davis from KSTP's On The Road with Jason Davis, which airs Sunday nights on KSTP channel 5. The idea is to show what extreme poverty there is in Haiti, and to show what a Minnesota based non profit is doing about starvation. Please pray for us, it should be a very exciting trip. Stay tuned for an update once we get back, and some pictures!

We packed more than a million meals last year, and are shooting for MANY more this year! Come in and help us make it happen! We are shipping more food through our partnership with the US Navy this week. Another 285,120 meals are going to the Phillipeans! We have had a request for more food to go to Rwanda, to help with the Darfar refugees, there are so many requests, HELP! Please pray for more meals to be made, so we can meet these needs soon.
